Limerick Forest is 5,788 ha of forest and wetland scattered throughout the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. The majority of Limerick Forest properties are concentrated in the Townships of Augusta and& Merrickville-Wolford in the heart of Grenville County. Established in 1940, Limerick Forest is a "multi-use" forest and offers a large variety of recreational activities such as hiking, cycling, & motocross, Horseback Riding, cross-country skiing, hunting, etc. The diverse flora and fauna found in the various forests and wetlands in Limerick Forest also provide many opportunities for research. The forest is managed with assitance from the Friends of Limerick volunteer group who participate in various activities such as trail maintenance and the construction of boardwalks and wildlife viewing platforms. The Limerick Forest Interpretive Centre located at 1175 Limerick Rd., is available for rent by groups/organizations who carry liability insurance.
